Memorial Roses

Beginning in 1850, Longman Floral began delivering a large bouquet of long stemmed  red roses to the memorial plaque of Anne Boleyn in the tower. The florist has remained tight-lipped concerning the purchaser's identity. There is much speculation as to who is honoring the late queen and  her descendants living in Kent are considered the most likely. Ironically there is a Longman floral in the Kent village they reside in. Who do you think might be sending the flowers?

  1. Probably her descendants. It just makes sense.

  2. I've heard it was some royal foundation who leaves flowers at the graves of all executed monarchs.

  3. Both interesting responses; I however tend to favor the idea of her ancestors leaving the roses as no flowers ever appear on the grave marker of Katherine Howard, who was also an executed queen of England.

  4. No one should leave her flowers, she was a whore who broke up marriages...not just Henry's but also Henry Percy's, which ended because of his affair with Anne.

  5. hmmm....perhaps you should read my post on the content of Anne's character. Henry Percy's marriage was extremely unhappy. Margaret Talbot, his wife did not want to marry him. She saw the relationship between Anne and Henry, which was flirtatious as best, as a way to have her own unfufilling marriage annulled. Anne was married to Henry VIII and pregnant at the time of the proceedings, she cannot possibly be held responsible except in the most remote sense.

  6. She has no descendants, people. Her only living child had no children. She may have distant relations (through her siblings) but SHE HAS NO DESCENDANTS.
